Several years ago, Junior Friends adopted a code of conduct which, after review
and revision as needed, is ratified at each Quarterly Meeting. The current code
requests that Junior Friends respect and participate in the group as a whole. In
addition, Junior Friends have agreed on the following specifics:
- No drugs
- No sex
- No alcohol
- Respect others' feelings, belongings and sleep
- Help out and do your share of work
- Attend mandatory meetings
- Get enough sleep to participate in the program
- Abide by the guidelines of any specific location
Violations of the Code of Conduct are dealt with by the Concerns Committee.
INTEREST GROUPS
Gather with other interested folk for informal discussion on a wide variety of
topics. Or post a sign-up sheet in the dining hall to initiate your own group.
If you indicate on the registration form that you want to be an interest group
leader (and also specify the topic), (a)this will count as your volunteer work
contribution, and (b)the host meeting will prepare a sign-up sheet for you.
CHALLENGE COURSE
The course consists of various activities designed to facilitate individual and
group development. Low elements (ropes) and group initiatives focus on risk-
taking, group problem solving, trust building, communication, and leadership

challenges as a result of stepping outside of their "comfort zones". It also
allows for some "plain ol' fun"! All who want to participate must sign up in
advance, and:
- All must sign the Waiver/Personal Data form
- Central and Junior Friends aged 12-18 must have a parent's signature
- Wear appropriate clothes: sneakers or hiking boots with socks, long pants,
extra warm clothing if the weather is cool or wet, no jewelry or large belt
buckles, safety strap for glasses, any necessary medications.
- Follow these regulations: stay off the apparatus until instructed and given
the facilitator's permission; use apparatus only with spotters and following
safety instructions; do not step on the ropes; do not play with equipment or
props; no gum, chewing tobacco, smoking, drugs, or alcohol.
