Freda the Peace Dove
Freda the Peace Dove was created by ceramic sculptor Phoebe Huffman, a member
of Port Townsend Friends Meeting, with the help of many other Port Townsend Friends.
The original inspiration for Freda came to Phoebe during Meeting for Worship in January
2004, and she was encouraged to pursue it by both family and Meeting. Since her
completion in 2005, Freda (a German name meaning "Peace") has been seen and touched
in many venues on the Olympic Peninsula. This year Phoebe and Port Townsend Friends
have sent Freda's message further afield by inviting others in Pacific Northwest
Quarterly Meeting to take her around Washington state and northern Idaho to be part of
community celebrations and other public events.
Pictures of Freda and more information are at
Freda's blog.
PNQM meets in the Fall and Spring of each year at
the
Lazy F Camp near Ellensburg in

Sunday. Responsibility for planning rotates among the Monthly
